As of August 8, 2025, DermaRite Industries issued a voluntary recall of several popular hand hygiene products, including DermaKleen lotion soap and KleenFoam foam soap, due to contamination with the dangerous, antibiotic-resistant bacteria Burkholderia cepacia. This organism poses a serious risk, especially for those with compromised immune systems, and can cause life-threatening sepsis or infections in individuals with broken skin. (source)
2. Power Stick Deodorant Recall
On July 10, 2025, the FDA reported a recall of more than 67,000 cases of Power Stick roll-on deodorants, including variants sold under the “Power Stick for Her” line. While the exact reason was not disclosed, the recall was attributed to violations of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP). (source)
